SANDOKAN LURES
STAR ZAN works without using insecticides, pesticides, repellents, essential oils, anti-
mosquito spirals or candles. It does not make use of hazardous chemical products or
possibly hazardous products to the human body or to the environment.
STAR ZAN can be used in combination with Sandokan enticers containing octenol, car-
boxylic acids and other molecules present in the normal metabolism of humans and ani-
mals.
This device makes use of the most environmentally-friendly methods available on the
market, and is completely safe for you and the environment.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Mosquito and other insect females feeding on blood bite to obtain the proteins they need
for their eggs to mature. They fly around to find the hosts to bite following visual stimuli
such as light and olfactory contacts: carbon dioxide, water vapour and the odours relea-
sed by the human body through breathing and sweating.
Through the combination of all these stimuli Sandokan STAR ZAN attracts the insects
inside the action area of its 4 powerful fan, sucking them in the insect collection basket,
where they soon die due to dehydration. The device features special tilting panels closing
the catching compartment whenever the fan is disabled, thus preventing the insects still
alive from getting out of the net.
COMPONENTS FEATURES
The outer grid selects only the blood sucking insects and it is calibrated to minimize the
inlet of other useful insects into the bag.
The top cover support the insects to be sucked into the fans, avoiding turbulences that
could reject the insects.
Fan engines are really powerful and silent. The 3 vertical and the single horizontal fans
catches much insects inside and outside the house.
UV LED, provided with specific light frequencies, have grea attractive power compared to
traditional neon bulb lights.
We recommend installing the device in early spring so as to minimize the number of mo-
squitos when their population is still small.
SANDOKAN ATTRACTANT INSTALLATION
Star Zan is compatible with all Sandokan attractive products(Part No. 7355,
Part No. 7356)
- Open the top cap of Star Zan, picking it up with two hands, inserting the fingers inthe
space between the cap and the transparent cover of STAR ZAN (Fig. 1 and 2)
- Insert the cover back, checking that the 4 pin of the cap match with the 4 holes of the
STAR ZAN.
- Periodically replace the attractants, as stated in the indication of the manufacturer.
POSITIONING OF THE TRAP
To optimise its effectiveness, the device will have to be used in poor-lighted envi-
ronments. Install PAC ZAN in sparsely attended areas and, anyway, never remain near
the device for too long. In fact, mosquitoes are generally more attracted by persons
than by the device, and could thus bite you before being trapped.
STAR ZAN is weatherproof and is provided with anti turbulence deflectors.
