MANITENANCE AND CLEANING
Cleaning from insect residues:
- Before carrying out any maintenance operation, disconnect the device from power
mains.
- Release the insect collection basket turning it clockwise and empty it.
- It Is possible to clean the insect collection basket and the filter with water. Dry thoroughly
before reuse.
- Lock back the insect collection basket in place turning it counter clockwise
- Clean the device once every 15 days, or more often if required.
- Do not use insecticides to kill any insect still alive upon cleaning, as they could reduce
device effectiveness.
ATTENTION! If some dangerous alive insects are still present inside the insect
collection basket , let the device ON, and wait for them to die.
In case of fan lock:
- disconnect the device from power mains.
- Release the insect collection basket turning it clockwise.
- Empty the insect collection basket making sure that the filter is clean to allow correct
air circulation.
- Clean fan blades using a small brush (or a small paintbrush).
- Lock the insect collection basket back in place turning it counter clockwise
- Connect the device at the power mains to reactivate the trap
ATTENTION! TO CLEAN THE DEVICE, DO NOT DIP IT IN WATER
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
Remove all packing material and, to prevent any chocking, do not allow children playing with it.
The device shall not be used by people (children included) with reduced physical or mental
capacities, or without any experience or knowledge, unless they are under the supervision of
a person responsible for their safety or they have been instructed on how to use the device.
The device shall be kept out of the reach of children.
Children shall be watched over to make sure they do not play with the device.
STAR ZAN works with 12 volt, and is safe.
Connect the adapter to a wall outlet protected from moisture and water, don’t use extension
cables.
If there is the need of extension cables, use Sandokan art. 7358 that it comes in the box, which
is equivalent to 10 meters of extension cable at low voltage.
Protect connectors from water and water spray.
The device shall not be used in dusty areas, or with flammable or explosive vapours.
Do not use the device if it shows signs of breaks.
Do not use the device if it is wet or shows signs of moisture.
Never expose the device to direct water jets, in particular of irrigation systems.
Do not leave it outdoor in autumn and winter and do not expose it to very dirty environments.
Not suitable for use inside barns, stables, or similar.
Prevent cable or plug from touching hot surfaces.
Should the power cable be damaged, have it replaced by the manufacturer or by the authorized
technical service or, anyway, by a qualified operator, so as to prevent any possible risk.
If one of device parts is damaged, do not fix it by yourself, but contact an authorized technical

Do not ever use it in backwater and don’t connect it to the power supply when wet.
Always place STAR ZAN on the floor or on a plain and wind shelted surface.
