Using the SmartThings Station
12
Using it as a wireless charger
You can charge other devices that have a built-in wireless charging coil.
After connecting the SmartThings Station to a wall charger, place the wireless charging
coil of the device in contact with the SmartThings Station’s charging coil. After fully
charged, remove the device from the SmartThings Station.
To check the charging status, launch the
SmartThings
app on your mobile device, tap
Devices
, and check your SmartThings Station card. Alternatively, tap the SmartThings
Station card and check the charging status under
Charging status
.
Precautions for wireless charging
If you do not follow the precautions below, the devices may not charge properly or
may overheat, or the devices (mobile devices, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, etc.) you
want to charge and any cards may be damaged.
•
Do not place the mobile device on the SmartThings Station with a credit card or
radio-frequency identification (RFID) card (such as a transportation card or a key
card) placed between the back of the mobile device and its cover.
•
Do not place foreign materials, such as metal objects, magnets, and magnetic
stripe cards, between the device you want to charge and the SmartThings
Station.
•
The SmartThings Station is not compatible with the wall chargers that do not
support Adaptive fast charging and Super fast charging features. To use the 15 W
Fast charging 2.0 feature, use the Samsung approved wall charger (9.0 V/2.77 A)
supplied with the SmartThings Station, super fast wall charger, or a PD (Power
Delivery) wall charger which is 25 W and higher. If a PD wall charger less than
25 W or fast wall charger is used, the 7.5 W fast wireless charging 1.0 feature may
work.
•
To save energy, unplug the wall charger when not in use. The wall charger does
not have a power switch, so you must unplug the wall charger from the electric
socket when not in use to avoid wasting power. The SmartThings Station should
remain close to the electric socket and easily accessible during use.
•
When using a wall charger, it is recommended to use an approved wall charger
that guarantees the charging performance.
•
Charging efficiency or speed may vary depending on the SmartThings Station’s
status or ambient temperature and environment.
•
The charger may be sold separately depending on your purchased product.
