  COOKING GUIDE

Hint :

 Thin food defrosts better than thick food, and smaller quantities 

need less time than bigger ones. Remember this hint while freezing and 

defrosting food. For defrosting frozen food with a temperature of about 

-18 to -20 °C, use the following table as a guide. All frozen food should be 

defrosted using defrosting power level (30 %).

Shield the edges with aluminum foil. 

Place meat on the middle of a flat 

microwave-safe plate and position the 

plate in the centre of the turntable. Turn 

over after half of the defrosting time has 

elapsed.

Before defrosting, if a lot of ice crystals are 

present on the poultry surface, it should 

be rinsed under cold water until all the ice 

crystals are removed. The poultry should 

then be left to stand for 5 to 10 min. at 

room temperature. Shield the thinner parts 

like wings and ends with aluminum foil. 

Place chicken pieces skin-side down, 

and whole chicken breast-side down on 

the middle of a flat microwave-safe plate. 

Position the plate in the centre of the 

turntable. Turn the poultry over after half of 

the defrosting time has elapsed.

Arrange rolls in a circle or place a loaf of 

bread horizontally on the middle of a flat 

microwave-safe plate and position the 

plate in the centre of the turntable. Turn 

the bread over after half of the defrosting 

time has elapsed. 

Guide for cooking meat in your microwave

• 

Place meat on a microwave-safe roasting rack in a microwave-safe dish.

• 

Start meat fat-side down. Use narrow strips of aluminum foil to shield 

any bone tips or thin meat areas.

• 

Check the temperature in several places before letting the meat stand 

the recommended time.

• 

The following temperatures are removal temperatures. The temperature 

of the food will rise during the standing time.
