Printer Options

Serial/LocalTalk Card or Network Card

The Serial/LocalTalk option lets you connect your ML-6100 to a PC or
Macintosh serial interface, or to a Macintosh LocalTalk network.
To use the serial connection, a standard 9-pin serial cable is 
required. One end has a 9-pin female connector and the other end 
has a 9-pin male connector. Do not use a null-modem cable, 
which is a twisted pair cable.
To use the Network I/F card, a standard RJ45 cable is required.
Review the precautions on page 6.1 and then follow this procedure 
to install the Serial/LocalTalk or Network card option in your printer.

1. Turn the printer power off and disconnect the power cord and printer

cable.

2. Remove the control board cover.
