Overview
• Trap Server Configuration is a Microsoft Windows
-based application used to maintain the “Toner
Low” logs for Samsung network printers.
The application program “Trap Configuration
Manager” provides an easy-to-use interface to
search for network printers, and to maintain the
“Toner Low” logs only for selected Samsung net-
work printers. This tool also allows users to save
“Toner Low” logs in a CSV file.
• The Trap Configuration Manager is launched from
“Start_Programs_Trap Server Configuration.” The
program conducts a network-wide search for
Samsung network printers, and then produces a
list of printers found over the network. This man-
agement tool also performs static registration for
selected printers on the list and un-registration
for printers removed from the same list.
• Currently, this solution is only available for
ML-2550 Series.
User Scenario
• User will install the “Trap Configuration
Manager” to some computers to monitor toner
low information, and register IP address of Trap
Server. User needs to configure CSV file loca-
tion and name.
• After installation, the trap server is ready to
receive some traps from printer devices. When
a trap is received, the user needs to assess if
toner is low or not. If toner is low, the printer’s
current page count is requested. Then the pro-
gram will store toner low status, current time of
trap server, IP address of printer, and the cur-
rent printer’s page count to a CSV file.
Benefits
