Overseas usage
For overseas use without anxiety
The overseas network condition is available on the au
homepage. Make sure to check the condition before
leaving Japan.

■ When the product is stolen or lost
• If the product or au Micro IC Card (LTE) is lost or stolen
while in overseas, please contact the Customer Service
Center immediately to suspend phone service. Please be
aware that any calling charges and packet communication
charges incurred after theft or loss of a phone are the
responsibility of the customer.
• If the au Micro IC Card (LTE) inserted into the product
is stolen or lost, the card may be inserted into another
mobile phone (including GSM mobile phone for overseas
use) by a third party. So, it is recommended to set the SIM
card lock to protect from improper use by a third party.
■ Using the product properly by knowing
about calling and communication services
overseas
• Calling charges differ depending on the country/region.
• Domestic discount services do not apply to calling
charges/packet communication charges incurred while
overseas.
• Calling charges are also incurred when receiving calls
overseas.
• Depending on the country/region, calling charges may be
incurred from the time that you tap .
Configuring the overseas settings
Obtaining the PRL (Roaming Area
Information)
The PRL (roaming area information) contains information on
roaming areas of overseas partner providers who have signed
an international roaming contract with KDDI (au).
Please obtain the latest PRL before traveling.
• To check PRL version, on the home screen, [Apps] →
[Settings] → [About device] → [Status], then check "PRL
version".
On the home screen, [Apps] → [Settings]
→ [More networks]
[Mobile networks] → [Roaming settings]
→ [PRL Settings] → [Update PRL version]
Listen voice prompt played after connected, then hang up
the phone. After the phone is hung up, updating PRL starts.
It may take approximately ten minutes to update.
◎ Call charge or communication charge does not apply for
updating PRL.
◎ In some area, updating PRL is not available.
◎ Be aware that service may be unavailable in some area/country
if you do not update the PRL.
