Direction of the pipe when brazing
X
X
Brazing the pipe should be done with the pipe headed downward or horizontally .
X
X
Avoid brazing with the pipe headed upward .
• The test liquid used to detect leakage after pipe brazing should be the designated one .
The use of the test liquid containing sulfur element may cause pipe corrosion .
CAUTION
Cutting or Flaring the pipes
X
X
Make sure that you prepared the required tools .
- Pipe cutter, reamer, flaring tool and pipe holder, etc .
X
X
If you want to shorten the pipe, cut it using a pipe cutter ensuring that the cut edge remains at 90° with the side of the pipe .
- There are some examples of correctly and incorrectly cut edges below .

Check that you flared the pipe correctly .
- There are some examples of incorrectly flared pipes below .
Uneven Thickness
Cracked
Damaged Surface
Inclined
Correct
• If foreign matters or BURRs are not removed after cutting pipe, refrigerant gas may leak .
• If foreign matters enter inside the pipe, the important interior parts of the unit may get damaged or product
efficiency will be reduced . So, the direction of pipe should be downward during pipe cutting or flaring .
