Installation
Compensation chamber
A compensation chamber (18) is required
for liquids above 150 °C as well as for
steam. Install the compensation chamber at
the highest point of the pipeline. The mount-
ing position of the compensation chamber is
indicated by an adhesive label on the cham-
ber itself as well as by an arrow and the
word "top" stamped on the top of the cham-
ber.
Before start-up, fill the compensation cham
-
ber with the process medium. This prevents
hot medium coming into direct contact with
the diaphragm (see Fig. 5-2).
Installation near to the pressure tapping
point in the flow pipe or at the same height
as the valve with the control line reaching at
least from the mid-axis of the pipeline (valve)
to the actuator. This allows the hot medium to
cool down sufficiently (see Fig. 5-2).
Depending on the conditions, install the com-
pensation chamber in the the hot control
line.
Î
This mounting position must be adhered
to; otherwise the safe functioning of the
regulator cannot be guaranteed.
