2.2
General Safety information
The module corresponds to the current state of the art and the recognised safety rules, but danger-
ous situations can still arise.
Some dangers cannot be solved at the design level, but only by following the safety instructions in
this operating manual (residual dangers).
To avoid the risk of injury and damage, you must follow the instructions below. follow these in-
structions:
2.2.1
Risk of injury
•
The module has been designed for operation by persons over 14 years of age. Do not allow
younger persons access to the module.
•
The module can be used by children aged 14 and over and by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given su-
pervision or instruction concerning use of the module in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved.
•
Children must not play with the appliance.
•
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
•
The module must not be used in potentially explosive environments, the module is not suitable
for this.
•
Have your qualified ventilation contractor check that the module can be used in your system be-
fore starting any installation work.
•
Have the installation carried out only by a trained specialist in order to avoid hazards.
•
Never operate the module without the prescribed protective devices.
•
Never tamper with the module's existing protective devices and safety circuits.
•
Never bypass the safety circuits if the system is not working properly. In this case, switch off the
ventilation system and the plasma system, secure the system against unintentional restarting
and notify the ventilation contractor or customer service immediately.
•
Never operate the module without a protective earth connected. You may otherwise suffer a fa-
tal electric shock.
•
Never operate the module outside the ventilation duct. The module generates toxic ozone and
possibly UV radiation when it is switched on.
•
Persons must never be in the danger zone of the module and the system.
•
Persons with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators keep a distance of 15 cm around the de-
vice, the high electrode voltage of the module of approx. 8 kV can interfere with pacemakers or
defibrillators.
•
Wear the respective prescribed protective equipment (PPE) such as protective gloves and UV
eye protection when working on the module.
•
Carry out the recurring inspections according to § 6 and § 15 of the Ordinance on Industrial
Safety and Health (BetrSichV) in due time.
•
Keep the module/system and the immediate surroundings free of flammable substances.
•
Keep a minimum distance of 400 mm to combustible materials. of 400 mm from the module.
•
Keep the module/system and access routes clear.
