Datacap Operation Definitions
Operation Definition
Initialize EFT Use this function to initialize the Datacap EFT device.
Close Batch Closes the current batch and opens.
Void Sales By Record Number
Void Return By Record Number
Use these operations to void transactions when the card is not
present.
CAUTION: These voids will not correct ECR totals
(i.e. PLU Sales) but will maintain a total on the Financial
Report.
(Not available with processor “First Data” Rapid
Connect.)
Use the Void Mode function at the SAM4POS terminal to
perform transaction voids that will correct the appropriate
sales totals.
Print Internal EMV File
This prints the internally stored token file that stores the
Authorization Response messages that allow the SAM4POS
to perform “By Record Number” transactions. Specifically,
the Void Transaction by Record Number and Gratuity Entry.
Gratuity Entry
The Gratuity Entry command allows the operator to add a tip
to a pre-authorized credit sale.
(Not available with processor
“First Data” Rapid Connect.)
Post Authorization
If electronic authorization is not approved and the merchant
receives voice authorization, the transaction can be entered
into the batch with this operation.
Pin Pad Reset
Not Used - this function to initialize the Datacap EFT device
for NON-EMV applications.
Parameter Download
Use this function to get new PIN Pad parameters from
Datacap.
Get Gift Card Balance
Select Gift Card Balance, the operator will be prompted to
slide a gift card. The balance will be printed on the receipt
printer
Get EBT Balance Use to check the EBT food stamp balance
EMV Voucher For EBT Used to manually enter EBT transactions.
Test Mode Only used for certification testing.
Self-Initiated Load
Used to load the Datacap EMV device parameters.
Diagnostics
Used to perform various diagnostics. Use as requested by
Datacap support.
Clear EMV Value
This clears the internally stored token file that stores the
Authorization Response messages that allow the SAM4POS
to perform “By Record Number” transactions. Specifically,
the Void Transaction by Record Number and Gratuity Entry.
Zero Auth
Use this operation to verify a card is valid, activated, not
reported as lost/stolen.
Pin Pad Reset
Use to Initialize\Reset the Pin-Pad connected to the installed
Datacap device.
Reprint Batch
Reprints the previous Batch.
