CARE AND CLEANING
All servicing, other than cleaning, should be performed by an authorized
service representative. See Warranty section.
1.
Exterior
- Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior.
-
DO NOT
use abrasive cleaners. Dry exterior thoroughly before use.
-
DO NOT
immerse kettle or power base in water or other liquid
2.
Installing the Filter
The filter must be inserted so that the smallest part of the filter is facing
down. Fit the notch in the filter onto the plastic support that runs
vertically below the spout. Gently push on the left side of the filter so
that it snaps into the horizontal slots on the left side of the spout.
Repeat on the right hand side.
NOTE: NEVER REMOVE OR INSTALL THE FILTER WHEN THE KETTLE
IS HOT.
3.
Removing the Filter
To remove the Filter, gently pull one side out of the horizontal slots on
either side of the spout, then pull out the other side. Lift the filter out of
the kettle.
4.
Descaling
Under normal use, a deposit of scale may form on the inside of the Kettle.
This scale build-up can be delayed by pouring out old water and refilling
before each use.
If descalling is required, follow the directions below:
- Unplug Power Cord from wall outlet and allow Kettle to cool completely.
- Open the Lid and remove the Filter as described above. Wash the Filter
under running water.
- Scale which has accumulated inside the Kettle can be removed by
boiling equal parts of white vinegar and water (2 cups of each is
recommended). Once the water has boiled, allow the mixture to stand
overnight. Empty out the mixture and fill the Kettle to the MAX level
with fresh water. Bring water to a boil and discard. For heavy scale
build-up, repeat this process.
