Authentication Process Options
The MorphoAccess® SIGMA Family terminal offers several authentication methods depending
on the reference biometric data location of a user and the level of security required.
The user’s reference biometric data can be located:
Either on his personal card, as described in “Biometric check, biometric data on user's
card” section,
Or in a record of the internal database, as described in “Biometric check and biometric
data in local database” section
Additionally the administrator can disable the biometric check as specified in the sections
“Manual bypass of biometric control” and “Automatic bypass of biometric control”.
Manual bypass of biometric control
The administrator can disable the ‘Biometric control’, which is enabled by default. The
administrator can also define a user rule for a particular user. In this rule, the trigger event
through biometric can be disabled while the trigger event through ‘Card’ can be enabled.
For per user rule configuration, refer to “User Enrollment in Database” section.
Bypass Biometric Check Rule set for terminal in L1 Legacy mode:-
In L1 Legacy mode, user specific access rule is logically added with the terminal settings.
For example,
If User rule is “ BIO” but biometric check is disabled as a part of the terminal
settings, then for that user BIO check is not performed.
If biometric check is enabled but user rule is specified as ‘Keypad’ only then for that user
BIO check is not performed.
Whereas in MA5G mode, the final user rule is a combination of terminal settings and
user rule settings.
For example,
If User rule is “ BIO” and biometric check is disabled, still the ‘BIO’ is checked
besides the pin entered from the keypad for the user in question (Logical OR operation).
If User rule is “Keypad only” and biometric check is enabled as well, it implies that both
‘BIO’ and pin entered from keypad are required to authenticate the user.
