LADDER SPLICE JOINTS

COMPONENTS
2 x Splice Joint: 600mm
8 x 12Gx20mm self-tapping screws
To connect ladder sections together, use two (2) 600mm splice joints with eight (8) 12gx20mm screws.
Ensure each ladder section has 300mm of splice joint inserted into each end of the ladder sections stile.
Use four (4) 12Gx20mm self-tapping screws to secure each splice joint in place with both ladder sections as below.
LADDER BASE SUPPORT

COMPONENTS
1 x Ladder Base Support Angle
8 x 12Gx20mm self-tapping screws and 4 x 50mm Foam Tape
Install Option 1:
700mm base support angle.
Install Option 2:
700mm base support angle cut in half.
1.
Select base angle install option based on roof sheeting type and direction of fall.

Fix ladder base support angle to the base of the ladder using self-tapping screws. Ensure ladder is installed
on top of angle section to protect roof sheeting from damage.

Foam strips must be placed between the base angle and roof sheeting at fixing locations to aid in sealing roof
fixing holes.
4.
Place ladder in the desired location and fasten the ladder base support by using the fixing listed below
depending on the structure. Always install fixings through high point of roof profiles.
Acceptable fasteners for the installation of the Ladder Base Support to a surface below:
FIXING
SURFACE FASTENERS (NOT SUPPLIED)
Timber:
Minimum two (2) x 12 gauge Roofing Screws (to penetrate at least 35mm to structure).
Metal:
Minimum two (2) x M8 Bolts fixed through the structure.
Roofing Sheets: Minimum two (2) x 12 gauge Roofing Screws or two (2) x 8mm Tri-fold Rivets.
Concrete:
2 x M8 masonry bolts or equivalent.
