PhoeniX G2 1+1 Frequency Diversity (FD):
FD protected (1+1) configuration is used with single antenna and OMT
(orthomode transducer) or a coupler at each side of the link
Each pair of ODUs utilizes its own frequency channel (f
low
, f
high
, f
′
low
, f

high
)
The outgoing (Tx) traffic at each site is passed to both ODUs, and both are
always transmitting
The incoming (Rx) traffic is picked from one of the ODUs
1+1 configuration provides hardware redundancy and mitigates multipath
fading
Both Tx and Rx switching is hitless
PhoeniX G2 1+1 Hot Standby (HSB):
HSB protected (1+1) configuration is used with single antenna and a coupler at
each side of the link
Both the incoming (Rx) and outgoing (Tx) traffic is switched to either one link
or other, only single ODU at each side is transmitting
Protects modem and radio from failure

PhoeniX G2 1+1 Space Diversity (SD):
SD protected (1+1) configuration is used with two antennas at each side of the
link
Both the incoming (Rx) and outgoing (Tx) traffic is switched to either one link
or other, only single ODU at each side is transmitting
In Space Diversity mode antennas are located 10-12 meters apart hence
allows avoiding frequency selective fading - multipath (e.g. reflection over
water, air refraction, etc.)
Rx switching is hitless , Tx switching <50ms
