Embroideries sewn directly on the garment shall be applied on the external
layer only, so that the thermal insulation is improved and flame and heat spread
through the garment is avoided.
The material used for the back (or support) of labels shall be flameproof and
compliant with ISO 15025 standard, in order to avoid the full combustion of the
label, which would reduce the protection efficiency of the garment.
The thread used to sew the labels shall be flameproof and compliant with ISO
15025 standard.
It is also recommendable that the thread used for the label’s embroidery or for
any embroidery on the garment’s external layer is flameproof and compliant
with ISO 15025 standard.
The heat fixing system (thermal gluing) shall not be used to apply labels or
other items on the garment, which shall not be cut or perforated.
Some of Sabelt’s products are realised and customised with prints made using
special technologies, which make them FIA standard compliant.
Users shall not apply prints or transfers on Sabelt’s FIA 8856-2018 or FIA 8856-
2000 approved garments, as this type of customisation may be carried out by
the producer only.
All garments homologated in compliance with FIA 8856-2018 and customized
with printing or transfers must be accompanied by a printed or digital certificate.
Users shall respect washing rules for the prints, as described in the specific
chapter and it is to be noted that prints do not have the same performances as
embroideries.
NB: Any embroidery, label or print whose application conditions are not
compliant with the provisions above will cause FIA approval to be invalidated
