Charge the Ryobi #181918 battery for at
least 8 hours before first use, and a minimum
of 8 hours between each use.

1. Charge the Ryobi #181918 battery using
only the Ryobi #181919 and #181925 12V
charging unit designed for your grass shears.
2. Plug 12V charger into the wall outlet and its
barrel connector into Charger Input of the
charging stand (Fig. 4). Make sure the wall
outlet is normal house voltage, 120 volts,
60 Hz, AC only.
3. Insert battery into the charging stand (Fig. 5).
NOTE:
The shape of the battery matches the
shape of the charging stand socket.
4. Press down on battery to be sure contacts
on the battery engage properly with charging
stand contacts (Fig. 5).
NOTE:
DO NOT place charging stand in an
area of extreme heat or cold. It will
work best at normal room
temperature.
5. When the red light is on (Fig. 4), the battery
is being charged.
If the light fails to turn on, check the following:
a. Barrel connector has been properly
installed into the charging stand.
b. 12V charger has been plugged into the
wall outlet.
c. Battery is firmly seated in the charging stand.
6. Charge the Ryobi #181918 battery for a
minimum of 8 hours before the first use.
NOTE:
The battery will become slightly warm
to the touch while charging. This is
normal and does not indicate a
problem.
NOTE:
Batteries will not reach full charge the
first time they are charged. Allow
several cycles (trimming followed by
recharging) for batteries to be fully
charged.
