Chapter 4 Scanning Preferences
Introduction
This chapter contains information as to how to adapt your RT230H to various applications with preference
setting. For instance, to narrow the field of view of the RT230H to make sure it reads only those barcodes
intended by the user.
Decode Area
Whole Area Decoding
When this option is enabled, the RT230H attempts to decode barcode(s) within its field of view, from the
center to the periphery, and transmits the barcode that has been first decoded.
** Whole Area Decoding
Central Area Decoding
The RT230H attempts to decode barcode(s) within a specified central area and transmits the barcode that has
been first decoded. This option allows the RT230H to narrow its field of view to make sure it reads only those
barcodes intended by the user. For instance, if multiple barcodes are placed closely together, central area
decoding in conjunction with appropriate pre-defined central area will insure that only the desired barcode is
read.
