Plate Maintenance:
Preserve the plate with unsalted cooking oil by applying it with a kitchen towel or cloth.
Let the plate stand for one hour and then wipe it dry of oil residue with a cloth.
A grill plate prepared this way can be used again for grilling.
Cleaning:
The grill should be thoroughly cleaned after each use:
For one-time and short-term use, simply wipe the grill with a paper towel.
After prolonged use, a special grill scraper ( and/or: sponge, brush) can be used to
collect food residue and remove it towards the drain hole.
After removing the residue, you can dry the surface of the grill plate with a clean towel
and seal the surface as described above.
NOTE: Be sure to hold the scraper at an angle to the surface of the grill plate. Scraping
too deeply can lead to scratches on the surface of the grill plate, which will increase
food adhesion.
If the surface is very dirty, wash the surface with water and dishwashing liquid.
NOTE: note that soap scum removes the natural grease coating and the grill surface
should be coated with oil after such washing.
After each use of the grill, pull out the collection container and clean it.
The container should be washed in soap suds.
