1 • Assembling the elements

of the appliance

Clip the end of the hose into the opening
suction hole 

(fig.1)

. To remove, unclip the

end using the pushbutton and pull towards
you. Secure the accessories clip to the tube
and fit the accessories to it. The accessory
support remains on the tube, while
accessories can be removed from the
support, which remains attached to the tube.
Assemble the telescopic tube*

Adjust it to the desired length

If your appliance is equipped with the
Compact System with folding tubes:
• For use, unfold the 2 tubes until you hear a

“click”. Adjust to the desired length.

Fit the appropriate accessory to the end of
the tube 

(fig.3)

.

• For rugs and carpets: use the nozzle in the

brush retracted or turbobrush* position (for
animal fur).

• For parquets and smooth flooring: use the

nozzle with the brush extended or use the
parquet nozzle*.

• For corners and other areas that are difficult

to reach, use the crevice tool*.

• For furniture: use the upholstery nozzle*.

1 • Remove packaging

Take your appliance out of its packaging.
Keep your warranty card and carefully read
the operating instructions before using your
appliance for the first time.

2 • Hints and precautions

Before each use the supply cord should be
completely unwound. Do not allow it to
become trapped or be pulled over sharp
edges.
If you use an extension cord, make sure that
it is in perfect condition and appropriate to
the power rating of your appliance. Never
unplug the appliance by pulling on the cord.
Do not pull the power cord to move the vacuum
cleaner. Carry the appliance by its carrying
handle. 
Never lift the appliance by its cord. Stop and
unplug the appliance after each use. Always
turn off and unplug your appliance before
maintenance or cleaning.
This appliance is not designed to be used by
people (including children) with a physical,
sensory or mental impairment, or people

without knowledge or experience, unless they
are supervised or given prior instructions
concerning the use of the appliance by
someone responsible for their safety. 
Children must be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
Your vacuum cleaner is fitted with a safety
device to prevent the motor from
overheating. In certain cases (using the
power nozzle on armchairs, seats, etc.) the
safety device may be tripped and the
appliance may emit an unusual noise which
is not serious.
Only use original Rowenta accessories and
filters.

Check that the filter and separator are fitted.
Never operate your vacuum cleaner without
the filtration system and lid.

Never put the filter in the appliance until it is
completely dry.
In the case of difficulty in obtaining
accessories and filters for this vacuum
cleaner, contact the Rowenta customer
service department (see last page for contact
details).

2 • Plugging in the electrical

power cord and using the

vacuum cleaner

Completely unwind the power cord, plug in
your vacuum cleaner and push the on/off
pedal

Adjust the suction power: with the manual
suction regulator* on the grip: open the
regulator flap to manually reduce suction,
e.g. for fragile surfaces…
