Place one hand onto the top of the Multi-Cutter, grip it well and use the other
hand to operate the mechanism by pulling on the black hand grip. The fi rst
pull should be quick and powerful. Do not relax your hold on the grip when
it is in its extended position, instead keep hold of it while the automatic
mechanism returns it to its original position.
The faster the tug on the grip of the Multi-Cutter the smaller and more effec-
tively the ingredients are shredded.
Cutting results
(depending on type of vegetable or fruit):
5 – 6 tugs: coarse to medium fi ne shredding
7 – 12 tugs: medium fi ne shredding
13 – 20 tugs: fi ne to extra fi ne shredding
Positioning the upward defl ector
When shredding sticky, lightweight ingredients such as parsley or dried
herbs, use of the upward defl ector under the rotor blades is recommended.
This ensures that the items are scooped up from the base and fed into the
cutting area of the blades.
The upward defl ector is clipped into position on the underside of the rotor.
There is only one position in the base of the rotor where it fi ts. When correctly
mounted the upward defl ector points upward and is aligned with the down-
ward defl ector above.
Before fi rst time use clean all parts of the Multi-Cutter. Take care to observe
the instructions provided under paragraph 3 “Cleaning and storage”.
Place the receptacle on a dry and stable worktop. Remove the blade guard
from the rotor. Be careful to avoid injury from the sharp blades.
For shredding sticky, lightweight ingredients fi x the upward defl ector to the
underside of the rotor. The upward defl ector must point in an upward direc-
tion. When fi lling the bowl, the blades should be aligned with the downward
defl ector so that they are positioned directly above each other to provide
space for a maximum load of ingredients.
Large fruit or vegetables should be halved or quartered before processing in
the cutting apparatus so as not to block the blades.
Place the lid onto the bowl and make sure that the six edges of the rotor cor-
rectly fi t into position. Do not apply force when doing this.
The Multi-Cutter is now ready for use.
