QuadraVista QF Hotmouse Feature
The Hotmouse function is a special feature of the QuadraVista QF wherein a pointing device like a mouse,
trackball or touch screen can quickly perform specialized functions, much like hotkeys on a keyboard. No
software or additional hardware is required to access this functionality.
Activating the Hotmouse Cursor
The hotmouse cursor is activated by moving the mouse on the console four times in a rapid horizontal shaking
motion, or by pressing
Hotkey
+ “M” on the keyboard.
Figure 87. Activating the Hotmouse with the Mouse
When activated, the mouse cursor turns into the “hotmouse cursor” - a numbered arrow - that allows control of
all hotmouse functions. The number that accompanies the arrow indicates the channel.
To activate the hotmouse cursor when using a touch screen, tap the screen twice, and then hold the finger
down after the second tap (tap – tap - hold, like a double click without lifting the finger on the second click),
until the hotmouse menu opens. Now click outside the hotmouse menu to open the hotmouse cursor.
Hotmouse mode can be exited by double clicking the mouse or by pressing
Hotkey
+ “M” on the keyboard.
The hotmouse cursor changes depending on its position on the screen. The different aspects of the hotmouse
cursor are displayed below.
