Set out all the parts of your music
stand, you should have: the legs, Base

The assembly will vary slightly,
depending on the Mid-East or Early

If you have the three separate legs, at the bottom of the base post is a
base cap.  Unscrew the cap. Each leg is dove-tailed to fit into a slot on the
bottom of the base post. Do not force the legs. If they do not fit in one
slot, try another. They should fit snugly.
After sliding each leg into a slot, replace
the base cap and screw it in. Do not
over tighten.

The weight of the stand will hold the
legs in place. The base cap is only there
to maintain the legs in place when the
stand is picked up or moved.

If you don’t see the extension rod, loosen the adjustment knob on the top
of the base post and see if the extension rod is packed inside. The book shelf
will have a connector that either screws on to the end of the extension rod,
or slides over the end of the extension rod.

Another adjustment knob holds the book shelf in position. The book shelf
can be tilted to a multitude of angles. Do not over tighten the adjustment
knob.

On the double shelf models, there is a wooden brace that adjusts the angle
of the shelf away from the extension rod. The wooden brace rests in one of
several notches.
