We recommend that you buy all your
accessories from the store where you bought
the tool. Use good quality accessories with a
well-known brand name. Store personnel can
help and advise.
Installing and removing the battery
pack
Always ensure that the tool is switched off
and the battery pack is removed before
making any adjustments or maintenance
procedures.
To remove the battery
pack, press the battery
pack release tabs (3)
on each side of the
battery pack and slide
the battery pack off
the tool.
To install the battery
pack, align the rails on the tool with the four
tabs on the battery pack, pushing the battery
pack onto the tool until it “clicks” into its final
position and is safely locked in place.
CAUTION. There is no need to use strong
force to insert the battery pack. If it does not
slide into place easily, it is not being inserted
correctly.
Charging the battery
The battery pack for this tool has been
shipped in a low charge condition. You should
charge the battery pack fully before use.
WARNING.
Never completely discharge a
battery, and never tape the trigger switch.
WARNING.
Do not use an extension cord with
the charger.
WARNING.
Charge indoors only.
WARNING.
Do not throw used batteries into
a fire or water: it could cause an explosion.
Please hand in non-working or used
batteries, or tools with built-in batteries, to
the environmentally safe disposal unit at a
municipal waste-disposal centre, or to your
dealer.
Slide the battery on to
the charger with the
rails of the battery pack
aligned with the rails of
the charger. Slide the
battery down until it
“clicks” into position.
The red light on the
charger should begin to glow continuously,
indicating that the battery pack is receiving a
“Fast Charge”.
After approximately one hour, the “Fast
Charge” indicator light (red) should go out and
the green light should be lit, indicating that the
battery pack is fully charged.
NOTE.
It is necessary to depress both battery
pack release tabs (3) in order to remove the
battery pack from the charger.
Depending on room temperature, line voltage,
and existing charge level, the initial battery
charging may take longer than one hour.
Disconnect the charger from the power source
when it is not in use.
To obtain the best life for the
battery
Never allow the battery to completely
discharge; it should be placed on charge
whenever it is noticeably running down.
Avoid conducting short charges. Make sure
that the battery is fully charged every time
by allowing the charger to complete its full
charging cycle.
Avoid allowing lose items like screws or nails
etc to be stored with battery packs as these
or similar items can short battery packs and
cause a fire or explosion.
Avoid charging or storing your battery in
temperatures below 0°C (32°F) and above
40°C (104°F).
