keep the membrane as clean as possib-
le, pull a plastic bag over the fresh plaster
before the patient inserts the limb into the
cylinder.
Make sure that the patient is able to bear
the load of the amputated side (while stan-
ding) for the duration of the impression.
In a standing position, the patient can
now place his/her stump in the middle of
the cylinder opening, so that there is light
contact with the distal foam cushion.

Now fill the system – up to the stump end
bearing cushion – with water „+ button “.
To avoid membrane adhesion, lubricate
the membrane above the distal bearing
cushion with lubricating creme.
During the application of the plaster
dressing, the patient remains seated!
In order to wrap the plaster dressing
onto the liner without bubbles, we re-
commend pulling a thin film over the ny-
lon stocking (Fig. 20).
Wrap the stump with wet plaster dressing,
without using any pressure! Be sure to
evenly cover entire limb without making
cast too thick. There should be no holes
or gaps. Smooth plaster thoroughly.
Tip: Use cold water to prevent plaster
