Operation/trial use
Select a lift vest that is the correct size for the patient. Place the lift vest
behind the patient’s lower back.
Fasten the clasp and tighten the belt.
Place the lift close to the patient and place the patient’s feet far in on
the footrest.
Adjust the leg support to fit the patient (about two fingers below the
kneecaps).
Loosen the screws for the boom somewhat. Draw out the boom
towards the patient for easier application of the sling/vest.
Select a loop close to the patient. This is easier if the patient can lean
forward somewhat. Connect the loop to the hook on the boom.
Draw the boom back until it stops. This is easier if the patient can lean
forward somewhat. Tighten the screws.
Ask the patient to lean back slightly and grasp the handle on the
boom. Begin raising. Pay close attention to the patient. Stop raising
if the patient is uncomfortable. Start raising the lift, and then stop to
ensure that everything is as it should be before continuing.
