In a cardboard box:
- 1 big board consisting of 4 pieces
- 1 wooden die with dots
- 4 wooden pawns
- 4 plastic ice cream cards
- 12 plastic waste cards: paper, can, bottle, glass
Aim of the game
Waste is something that confronts us on a daily
basis and which affects us all. Young children
know that they should put their waste in a bin
and that the dustcart collects the waste so that
it can be sorted and recycled. Much of our waste
is harmful to the environment, but we can help
keep our surroundings clean. Every little helps,
even though many people fail to uphold this
sentiment.
It is important to create awareness among
children so that they can help reduce our waste
mountain. Getting children used to sorting and
recycling their waste will help in the future. This
game is therefore aimed at making children
aware of this subject. During a walk in the park,
the children are confronted with random litter.
Once the children have cleared up the litter, they
are rewarded with an ice cream.

Preparation
The children sit in pairs opposite each other
across the board. They place the 4 boards next
to each other so that the arrows correspond and
are opposite to each other. Each child chooses a
counter and together the children place the 12
waste cards randomly on the path in the park.
Game
The children each throw the die in turn and
place their counter on the path in the park. They
may choose the direction they go. Each player is
aiming to clear up 3 different waste cards in the
park. Once the player has collected the 3 cards,
he/she goes to the nearest waste point and
deposits the cards there.
This is a game with no winner or loser because
it is about working together and the common
goal. However, everyone is given an ice cream as
a reward.
