POSITIONING AND PLACEMENT
The positioning of the loudspeakers is very important to successful installation. The key is to
find the best compromise between room constraints and performance.
See the diagram below for general guidelines on positioning. Note that this is only a
guideline and an ‘ideal’. Every room is different and some experimentation of positioning will
result in the best sonic performance.
Placing one or both of the speakers in a corner or an alcove will result in a decrease of sonic
performance (such as ‘booming’ bass) and is best avoided.

• Distance of a & b should be equal on both loudspeakers
• Loudspeakers should be approximately 2 m apart
• Speakers should be symmetrical to the listening position
• Speakers should be between 0.5 – 1 m from rear wall
• A small angled ‘toe-in’ of 10-15 degrees (depending on distance from listening
position) will ensure increased sound staging and imaging. ‘Fine tune’ this angle for
optimum performance.
