• Are Equipment Group II, Equipment Category 2, and comply with the Essential Health and Safety
Requirements relating to the design and construction of such equipment given in Annex II to
Directive 2014/34/EU. For details, see the EU Declaration of Conformity from the 1718

• Are intended for use in areas in which explosive atmospheres caused by gases, vapors, mists, or
air are likely to occur in normal operation occasionally (see Zone 1 definition). Such locations
correspond to Zone 1 classification according to ATEX directive 2014/34/EU.
• The I/O modules have outputs leading into Category 1
[Zone 0 (gas) or Zone 20 (dust)] or Category M1 (mining)].
