GENERAL INFORMATION AND SYSTEM DIAGRAMS
The System controller for the models of the K18 family essen-
tially ensures:
▶
Manage ambient comfort by controlling the heating circuits
or zone valves;
▶
Manage the domestic hot water (DHW) production, by con-
trolling the components dedicated to fill the DHW buffer
tank;
▶
Manage the heat generation, by controlling a K18 Simplygas
or a K18 Hybrigas unit.
All this is possible for certain types of system plumbing diagrams
indicated in Figures 1.1
p. 6, 1.2 p. 7 and 1.3 p. 7
with regards to the K18 Simplygas unit and Figures 1.4
p. 8,
1.5
p. 8 and 1.6 p. 9 with regards to the K18 Hybrigas
unit.
The System controller for K18 unit is supplied preconfig-
ured to facilitate the installation and startup of the types
of system illustrated in Figure 1.1
p. 6, 1.2 p. 7
and 1.3
p. 7, 1.4 p. 8, 1.5 p. 8 and 1.6 p. 9.
However, it can also support other configurations. For
applications other than those indicated in this manual,
Robur provides custom consultancy service.
For water circuits with primary circuit only (Figure
1.1
p. 6, 1.2 p. 7, 1.4 p. 8 e 1.5 p. 8)
water circulation must be guaranteed to handle the K18
unit's antifreeze cycle. In the diagrams given in Figure
1.2
p. 7 and 1.5 p. 8 this requires that a outlet/
inlet bypass is installed, with overpressure valve set to
open only when both zone valves are closed. For the di-
agrams given in Figure 1.1
p. 6 and 1.4 p. 8 it
may be sufficient to ensure circulation in one branch of
the distribution; for instance, by not installing the valve
(thermostatic or manual) on one of the radiators.
The following diagrams intend to show the hydraulic
configurations supported by System controller, in-
cluding the parts to be connected to it. Ancillary hy-
draulic components (expansion tanks, safety valves, etc.)
are only shown as a guide; for the detailed plumbing
layout, refer to the handbook of the K18 range and to
the specific installation manual of the K18 unit used.
