Step 5.3 Burner Cup Assembly Removal
1. Remo v e the direct spark igniter and sense rod:
Remo v e the sense rod and direct spark igniter
w ith a 1/4" n u tdri v er or phillips (+) scre w dri v er,
then remo v e the scre w and n u t w ith a straight
slot scre w dri v er and an 11/16" open end w rench
(spanner). Yo u may protect the igniter and set it
inside the b u rner or u npl u g the harness from the
v al v e/mod u le and set it aside.
2. Remo v e the blo w er side door: Remo v e the three
th u mb scre w s and set the door aside. See Page
6, Figure 4 .
3. Remo v e the b u rner c u p assembly: Unscre w the
b u rner c u p and set aside. See Page 6, Figure 5 .
4. Remo v e and replace the gas orifice: Use a 1/2"
open end w rench (spanner) to remo v e the
orifice. Replace it w ith the one incl u ded w ith this
kit.
CAUTION: Do not o v er-tighten the orifice. The
torq u e v al u e for the orifice is 15 in/lbs; contact
yo u r factory representati v e for more details.
5. Replace the b u rner c u p. Ins u re the large
external tooth w asher is in place then tighten the
b u rner c u p.
6. Replace the blo w er side door.
7. Replace the direct spark igniter,
then the sense rod. See Figure 5 .
Step 5.4 Re g ulator Replacement
1. Be s u re gas s u pply to heater is off.
2. Replace the reg u lator spring:
Using a flat head scre w dri v er, remo v e the cap
from the reg u lator adj u sting scre w , remo v e the
scre w and remo v e and replace the spring.
3. Replace the adj u sting scre w and t u rn do w n
approximately 1/2".

4. If the b u rner is remo v ed, re-install the gasket
and the b u rner on the transition t u be by
inserting lock w ashers and bolts, torq u e to 120
in/lbs. Reconnect o u tside air, gas and electrical
s u pplies. For proper installation proced u res, see

incl u ded in this Con v ersion Kit.
5. Yo u may remo v e the press u re s w itch by
remo v ing the t w o (2) scre w s from the top of the
b u rner w ith a 1/4" n u t dri v er or Phillips (+)
scre w dri v er; this allo w s increased access to the
reg u lator o u tlet on the control v al v e. See Page
8, Figure 7 . If yo u remo v e the press u re s w itch,
be s u re to make note of the position of the

WARNING
Severe Injury Hazard
Secure burner to burner tube with nuts and
lockwashers.
Hang heater with materials with a minimum
working load of 75 lbs (33 kg).
