Hydronic System
The Alde hydronic system provides hot water, coach heating, and engine preheating for your Roadtrek. Power is supplied by either shore power,
power generated by the engine generator, heat from the engine, or propane. The Alde control unit is located on the driver's side of the coach,
behind the cabinet to the left of the galley, facing the rear lounge/bed area. (Picture 53.2)
Press the ON button on the bottom left corner to access the menu. Follow the instructions for operation in your Alde manual. The Alde system will
protect itself from freezing by dumping the water in its tank onto the ground beneath your vehicle if the temperature approaches freezing. This
protects the Alde plumbing only; you still need to winterize the remaining water system in your Roadtrek to prevent damage to the water lines and
other components. You can also drain the system manually by turning the valve to the tripped position. (Pictures 54.1, 54.2)
After the Alde system has dumped, you need to reset the frost control valve in the compartment under the driver's side bench before using the water
system again. Open the compartment, turn the valve 90 degrees from its tripped position pointing toward the valve in the blue water line to a
position parallel to the blue line, and press the blue button at the base of the frost control valve on the side opposite the blue line. The Alde unit will
now function normally, provided that the air temperature around the valve is high enough.
