Cleaning And Lubrication

1. Wipe exterior of the electrical tool clean daily with a

clean dry cloth.

2. Clean the interior of the QCS coupling first by pointing

the opening towards the ground and gently shaking
any debris out. Then, visually inspect the area for any
debris. If needed, cotton swabs can be used to wipe
out any remaining debris. Do not force any material
into the pockets that hold the retaining balls.

3. The QCS coupling is lubricated for life at the factory

and does not require any further lubrication. Do not
add any lubricant to the QCS coupling.

Required Maintenance At RIDGID
Independent Service Center

After 30,000 cycles, the electrical tool will show a blinking
yellow LED on the LED diagnostic display

(Figure 2) as long

as the tool is turned ON to indicate that it is time for main-
tenance and recalibration. If the tool is not serviced within
2,000 cycles after the yellow LED light begins blinking;
the LED light will remain solidly lit and the tool will not run.

Accessories

WARNING

The following tool accessories have been de signed
to function with the RE 6 and RE 60 Electrical Tools.
Other accessories suitable for use with other tools
may become hazardous when used on the RE 6 and
RE 60. To prevent serious injury, use only accessor -
ies specifically designed and recommended for use
with the RE 6 or RE 60, such as those listed below.

All listed batteries will work with any electrical tool. The dif-
ference between batteries from different regions is the
applied label(s).

Storage

Remove battery from tool and store electrical tool and bat-
tery in case. Avoid storing the electrical tool, batteries or
charger in extreme heat or cold. The electrical tool will not
turn ON if the tool or battery temperature is not within the
temperature range of 15°F (-10°C) to 122°F (50°C). So it
may be neces sary to allow the tool to warm or cool to a
temperature within the operating range by placing it in a
conditioned room before use. This will be indicated by a
red glowing LED on the LED diagnostic display.

Store the tool in the carrying case and

place in a dry, secured area that is out of reach of children
and people unfamiliar with the RE 6/60 Electric Tool.
The electrical tool is dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.

Service And Repair

WARNING

Improper service or repair can make machine
unsafe to operate.

Service and repair on this RE 6/RE 60 Electrical Tool
must be performed by an independent Crimp Tool Service
Cent er. The tool fasteners have been marked to indicate
if service has been performed by unauthorized individuals.
