2. E-mail server Make sure that the client devices which
have an account in the server can
send/receive e-mail.
Ask the administrator to check.
Send a test e-mail with the machine's own
number as the destination. The machine
receives the returned e-mail if the
communication is performed successfully.
3. Destination e-mail
address

Make sure that the e-mail address is
actually used.

Check that the e-mail address contains
no incorrect characters such as
spaces.
4. Router settings

Use the "ping" command to contact the
router.

Check that other devices connected to
the router can sent data over the
router.
Ask the administrator of the server to
check.
5. Error message by
e-mail from the
network of the
destination.

Check whether e-mail can be sent to
another address on the same network,
using the application e-mail software.

Check the error e-mail message.
Inform the administrator of the LAN.
