PAPER FEEDING PROBLEMS

4.4.5 MULTI-FEEDING
Description
Multiple sheets of paper are fed at once.
Check and Cause Solution
Solenoid malfunction (the solenoid is not
working properly): Perform Engine Test
Mode: Diagnostic Mode code 0. Replace the solenoid if necessary.
Friction-Pad is contaminated with
foreign matter (oil). Clean the friction-pad with soft cloth
dampened with IPA (Isopropyl
Alcohol).
The front and back side of the paper is
mixed. Use smooth paper.
4.4.6 PAPER STAYS ROLLED IN THE FUSER
Description
If contaminated at intervals of 57 mm on the back of a paper.
Check and Cause Solution
Disassemble the fuser, clean the area
between the Heat-roller and
Thermistor and remove the foreign
matter off of the pressure roller.
NOTE: As explained in page 3-19,
assembly/disassembly of the
fuser unit should be kept to a
minimum, in order to avoid
hazardous situations.
Contamination of the pressure roller.
