About This Manual
This manual is intended for use by service technicians
responsible for installing and servicing the ethernet
option in Ishida 3000 Series scales and printers.

Introduction
If the ethernet option is ordered at the time the scale is
ordered, the ethernet card will be factory installed by
Rice Lake Weighing Systems. If a scale is received
with the ethernet option already installed, please
proceed directly to Section 2.0 on page 3 to begin
configuring the scale’s IP address, gateway IP address,
netmask, and Telnet configuration password.

Installation and Wiring
The following steps explain the installation and wiring
procedures for the ethernet option of the Ishida 3000
Series scales and printers.
1.1.1
Connector Mounting Bracket Removal
1. Remove platter.
2. Remove the display pole from the scale.
3. Remove keyboard assembly by removing two
screws and one 8mm hex screw. Gently lift
keyboard off and detach cable from main cpu
board. Set aside. (see Figure 1-1).

4. Remove 4-7mm hex screws holding spider
assembly.
5. Remove 4-7mm hex screws beneath corners
of spider.
6. Remove 8mm hex screw next to nylon screw
near front of unit.
7. Lift cover off scale.
8. Remove connector mounting by removing the
three screws holding the bracket and one
holding the power cord ground:
•
Both DB9 connectors (standoff 5mm).
•
Black cover (2 screws - phillips screwdriver).
•
Power switch (see Figure 1-2).

Fuse holder (see Figure 1-3).
•
Remove phillips screw next to the fuse holder.
•
Tighten nylon tie around metal locking tabs.

Power cord. Remove the black and white

•
Power cord connection. Lightly pull wire and
pin out of connector to remove the black and
white wires from the connector slide plastic
tube over pin.
