to shift. For example, after replacing the potentiometer or due
to high voltage peaks after using an unsuitable battery. As a
result, the motor does not reach maximum power.
Debugging the controller unit:
• To do this, remove the four screws below the motor head
(Fig. 10).
• Remove the motor head cover and locate the small reset
switch on the controller next to the LED (Fig. 11).
• Press and hold this button for 5 seconds to enter debugging
mode. The LED starts fl ashing red.
• Set the rotary handle to maximum reverse position and
briefl y press the button again.
• The LED now fl ashes yellow. Now turn the rotary handle to
the zero position and briefl y press the button again.
• The LED now fl ashes blue. Set the rotary handle to maximum
forward position and briefl y press the button again.
• The setting is now complete.
• Check the charge level of the battery. Check the battery cells.
• Check the connections of the battery cable.
• Handle zero point shifted, see error code “OFF Handle reset”.
Power consumption too high
• Check propeller for stiff ness.
• Corrosion or short-circuit at cable connectors in the upper
motor housing.
• Check the battery cells.
Motor noise too loud and/or vibrations
• Check fi t and condition of the propeller; if necessary remount
the propeller off set by 180°.
• Bent shaft. Remove the propeller and run the motor at
medium speed, paying attention to shaft noises.
• If the shaft is bent, send the motor in for repair.
• Turn the propeller by hand, in case of stiff ness send in the
motor for servicing.

Debugging of the controller unit may only be
carried out by a Rhino-Motors Service Partner.
Motor does not reach maximum power
Special circumstances may cause the zero position of the handle
Error code Beeps Cause What to do
E05 + OFF 2x Motor/propeller jammed Turn the rotary handle (tiller) to the zero position, dis-
connect the power supply, then check if line or weeds are
caught in the screw.
E08 + OFF 2x Motor control unit is overheated (>85°C) Turn the rotary handle (tiller) to the zero position and allow
the motor to cool down for 10 minutes
E41 2x Battery voltage too high Install replacement battery with proper voltage.
E43 2x Battery voltage too low Charge or replace battery.
E44 2x USB power supply error Disconnect the external USB device, wait for 2 minutes
and try again.
OFF Handle reset (see

Move the rotary handle (tiller) to zero position and, if neces-
sary, briefly disconnect the motor from the voltage source
(disconnect the battery).
