Fault Finding (Chart 8)
Is the noise only evident
when hot water is being
drawn off during periods of
high solar gain?
Check for:
Mineral build up on the heating unit
loop - replace heating unit.
Poor quality water supply i.e. dam
water sludge - flush tank.
Is the noise only evident
when electric heating cycle
is on?

dishwasher, ball cocks etc.

Check for a faulty stop cock, non-
return valve, ECV or T&PR valve.
Check for restrictions in pipe work,
faulty valves, loose plumbing, other
appliances i.e. washing machine or
dishwasher. Fit PLV if required.
