PRONE/FLAT POSITION
Patient Placement: : DESCENT PRONE POSITION
1.
PATIENT PLACEMENT in REVERSE POSITION of standard seated position
2.
Head is located at the Foot Panel, near PULL HANDLE
3.
Legs are located at the Head Panel
4.
Patient will be facing DOWN the stairwell and at the Support Responder
5.
REVERSE of Seated Descent
The Lead Responder:
1.
Positioned at the FOOT/ PULL HANDLE of the RexONE
DCS at top of stairs (Reverse standard descent)

2.
Manages the Descent Control System
3.
Functions as the safety lead and provide verbal direction
throughout descent
4.
Controls descent from top of the stair well and
communicates to the support operator

Support Responder(s):
1.
Positioned alongside the RexOne DCS HEAD PANEL facing
down the stairwell
(Figure 19b)
2.
Assists in the control and positioning of descent using the
Strap Support system (
Figure 19c)
3.
Maneuvers the RexOne DCS in a tight turning radius around
stairwell landings
4.
Communicates and reassures patient
5.
Communicates patient position to Lead Responder
