•  You can take the dimensions of the daytime running lights from the following draw-

ing:

•  The rear casing edges of the daytime running lights must be perpendicular to the

travel direction.

•  The daytime running lights should be installed such that the beam direction is paral-

lel to the surface of the traffi c lane.

•  Fasten the installation brackets to the daytime running lights.

•  Drill the holes for the fastening brackets and the connection cables; deburr the

holes and protect them against corrosion.

•  Guide the connection cables through the holes and screw the daytime running lights

into place, after aligning them correctly.

•  Route the connection cables into the engine compartment. Use the rubber grom-

mets at the points where the cable passes into the car’s interior, and if needed, use
additional suitable sealing compound.

Electric connection

The electrical connection may be done only by a specialist.

To avoid short-circuits and any resulting damage to the daytime running
lights and the vehicle, the negative terminal (earth) of the car battery must
be disconnected during the connection. Only re-connect the negative pole
of the battery when the daytime running lights are fully connected and after
you have checked the connection.

Follow the instructions from the vehicle’s manufacturer to ensure that none
of the vehicle’s saved data (time, radio stations, etc.) is lost.

Use only a voltmeter or a diode test lamp to check the voltage of the vehicle
system leads, as normal test lamps consume excessive voltage and may
thus damage the vehicle’s electronics.

Adhesive techniques which become ever more common and painted metal
parts impair the electric conductivity. Therefore not every metal part is a
suitable earthing point.

When laying the cables, make sure that they are not squeezed or abraded
on sharp edges. Use rubber grommets for the lead-though points.

When laying cables in door frames, etc., make sure that no safety-related
equipment (such as side air bags) is affected. The cables may not be laid
within triggering range of the fully-expanded air bag.

•  Connect the cable set to the two daytime running lights.

•  Connect the red connection lead, using a 3 A fuse, to the positive terminal of the

vehicle ignition  (Terminal 15).

•  Connect the black connection lead with the vehicle earth (Terminal 31).

•  Connect the white connection lead, using a 3 A fuse, to the positive terminal of the

voltage supply for the parking light (navigation light) of the vehicle (Terminal 58).

•  Fix the connection cables with cable ties at the existing cable harness of the vehi-

cle. Avoid touching the vehicle’s moving parts and parts that can become hot during
operation.

•  After completing the connections, reconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle

battery.

•  Switch the ignition on to check the function. The daytime running lights must switch

on automatically.

•  Then switch the parking light on. The daytime running lights must switch off auto-

matically.

Maintenance and care

Check the technical safety of the daytime running lights at regular intervals, e.g. for
damage to the connection cables and to the daytime running lights themselves.

Check the functionality at regular intervals.

Clean the daytime running lights regularly. Do not use any chemical cleaning agents,
as they can corrode or damage the material of the casing.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed

of in the household waste!

Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
