b) Persons and product
•
Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next
to the device. If liquid or an object does enter the device, remove the USB cable.
Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist repair centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. Allow the
product to reach room temperature before connecting it and putting it to use. This
may take several hours.
c) Scanner
•
Only place the scanner on a flat, stable and sufficiently large surface. Protect
valuable or scratch-sensitive furniture surfaces by using a suitable underlay to
prevent damage.
• Lay all connecting cables in such a way that they are not a trip hazard. Do not
step on the cables.
Installation
•
Place the table mat on a flat, stable and
sufficiently large surface. Place the scanner on
the edge of the mat as determined by the cross
in the figure.
• Protect valuable or scratch-sensitive furniture surfaces around the mat by using a suitable
underlay to prevent damage caused by cables or connectors.
Connection
Connect the remote trigger at the rear of the scanner. The trigger has a USB
connector. This is not, however, for connection to a conventional USB port. Never
connect the trigger to a conventional USB port as this may damage the USB port or
the USB device. Only connect the trigger to the scanner.
USB
• Connect the USB cables as shown in the
figure.
• Connect the scanner via the USB-B
socket and the USB cable supplied with
Y-connection to two USB ports on your
computer. Each of the two ports must be
able to deliver a current of 500 mA.
• For more information on the scanning options and operations, please refer to the
manufacturer’s operating instructions on the CD.
Operation on PC
• Install the software supplied on the PC.
Wait until Windows detects the device.
• Fold the folding arm upwards to the horizontal position as far as it will go.
• Switch on the light on the scanner. For further information, see the section ‘Switching light
on/off’
• Start the scanner software on the PC.
Installing and using the software
Pay attention to the manufacturer’s operating instructions supplied on the CD as well as any
information in the software.
Switching light on/off

Briefly press the button on the horizontal alarm, marked with a light symbol. This switches
on the LED light on the scanner. Press again to adjust the brightness levels. A fourth press
switches off the light.

Using its in-built camera, the product can be used to take images of documents, books and
objects which can be saved and edited on a PC. The camera is activated via a remote trigger
(included in the items supplied). The software on the CD supplied can be used to scan and edit
the scanned data, e.g. with text recognition.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g.
in a bathroom) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product
for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper

a) General information
• The device is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
