Operation

•   Switch on the computer and wait until the OS has fully loaded.
•   Connect the card reader to a free USB 3.0 port on your computer using the USB

cable included in delivery. The OS will automatically detect the card reader and

display inserted cards as drives on the user interface.

•  If your computer does not possess a USB 3.0 port, then the card reader can also be

connected to a USB 2.0/1.1 port, as it is backward compatible. In this case, the data

transfer speed will only match the specifications of the slower port.

Important:  SDXC  memory  cards  use  a  file  system  called  exFAT.  If  your

computer is running Windows® XP, you must install a corresponding

update; otherwise, the OS will not be able to detect SDXC memory cards!

Visit the www.microsoft.com website and search for the exFAT file system

update. You will not be able to use SDXC memory cards in conjunction with

Windows® XP until you have installed this update!

Inserting/removing a memory card

•  Insert  the  memory  card  into  a  suitable  slot  on  your  card  reader.  Make  sure  the

memory card is inserted the right way round; do not force it! When the system

detects that a memory card has been inserted, a blue LED lights up. This LED flashes

while data is being read from/written to the card.

•  Before removing a memory card from the card reader (or disconnecting the card

reader from the computer), you must first wait for all read or write operations from

or to the memory card to be completed.

•  Before pulling out the memory card, make sure it can be removed safely by referring

to the instructions in the user manual for your OS  and taking the necessary steps.

If the memory card is removed during reading or writing (or if the card

reader is disconnected), then data on the memory card may be damaged

and the card may even have to be reformatted.

Reading from/writing to memory cards

•  A memory card inserted into the card reader is treated like a conventional removable

media drive. You can read data from (or write data to) a memory card just as if it

were a USB hard drive or USB stick.

Maintenance and cleaning

•  Always disconnect the product from the power supply (USB port) before cleaning it.
•  The product does not require maintenance apart from occasional cleaning. For

cleaning, use a soft, anti-static and lint-free cloth.

•  Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents.
•  Do not immerse the product in water.
