Operation with rechargeable batteries
• Open the battery compartment at the rear of the device by pushing it open in the direction of the
arrow.
• Push the switch in the battery compartment to the NiMH position.
• Insert four rechargeable batteries of type LR6 (size AA) into the battery compartment. Ensure that all
batteries are inserted according to the polarity indication at the rear of the radio. The radio is intended
for use with nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries (NiMH).
• Connect the mains adapter to the radio and then to an outlet.
• The charging LED flashes green during charging. The rechargeable batteries take about 7 hours to
charge completely. The charging LED stops flashing when the rechargeable batteries are charged
completely.
When using rechargeable batteries, put the battery switch in the NiMH position. The
rechargeable batteries are then only charged when the radio is off and connected
to the mains adapter.
When the rechargeable batteries are flat, the battery status display lights up red briefly. The
radio then switches off automatically. In this case you may be unable to switch on the radio
again until the rechargeable batteries are recharged or the radio is connected to the mains
adapter.
If the radio is not used for an extended period of time, we recommend removing the rechar-
geable batteries from the radio.
