Installing the smartphone holder
• Select a suitable ventilation grille for securing the smartphone holder to your vehicle.
Four size options are available according to the grille size.
- Starting position (clamping jaws
(4)
not locked)
- 1 -- Grille gap size 2.5 - 3.5 mm
- 2 -- Grille gap size 1.8 - 2.5 mm
- 3 -- Grille gap size up to 1.8 mm
• Insert the clamp holder
(8)
into the ventilation grille as shown
until the smartphone holder is firmly in place.
• If necessary, turn the entire smartphone holder to adjust it to the
desired position.
• If necessary, compensate for the minimum deviation in the align-
ment by turning the ball joint and tightening the union nut to
secure the ball joint.
• Place the locking lever
(7)
in the position corresponding to the
ventilation grille width to secure the smartphone holder.
• To remove the smartphone holder, proceed in reverse.
• Before releasing the smartphone holder, remove any mobile
device that may be inserted.
• Remove the smartphone holder from the grille by carefully mo-
ving it right and left until it is freed from the grille. Then pull it
away from the grille.
• Caution! Do not break off the louvres of the ventilation grille or
the clamping jaws
(4)
of the clamp holder.
Connection to the vehicle’s on-board power supply
• Insert the micro USB plug on the connection cable into the USB
socket on the device.
• Connect the USB-A plug to a USB power supply in your vehicle.
• If the vehicle does not have a USB connection, use a USB char-
ger (adapter) plugged in to the cigarette lighter socket of your
vehicle. This device is not included.
• If you are no longer using the device, remove the USB cable
or the USB charger (adapter) from the cigarette lighter socket.
• As soon as the product is supplied with power, the LED indicator
(5)
lights up red and then blue, then both stay on together.
Setup
Ensure that the connection specifications for your mobile device comply with
the connection data for the product (see technical data).
Always read the operating instructions that came with your mobile device.
Do not short-circuit the USB inputs.
You can operate the product while the engine is both on or off. However, avoid
starting the engine while the product is connected, as this may briefly cut off the
power supply to the cigarette lighter (this may not apply to all vehicle models). If the
engine is switched off, drawing current over a longer period of time will discharge the
vehicle battery.
• Slowly move your mobile device onto the holder. The infrared
sensor
(2)
detects the approach (5 - 8 cm) and automatically
adjusts the width of the clamping jaws accordingly.
• Place the mobile device on the support base
(1)
.
• If the mobile device has been inserted correctly between the
clamping jaws
(4)
, the jaws close automatically.
• Charging starts automatically. The indicator LED
(5)
lights up
red. In standby mode, the indicator LED does not light up.
• If you place an object that is not a mobile device too close to the
smartphone holder, the indicator LED flashes red to warn you.
• Remove the mobile device when charging is complete. The end
of charging for Apple
®
devices is indicated by the red LED in-
dicator (5); for Android™ devices, this is indicated by the blue
LED indicator
(5)
.
• Press the open button
(5)
. This will open the clamping jaws
(4)
.
• You can now remove the charged mobile device.
Care and cleaning
• Disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the housing or stop the product from functioning properly.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
