Circuit Description
1. Frequency configuration
The receiver utilizes double conversion superheterodyne. The first IF is 38.85MHz and the second IF
is 450KHz. The first local oscillator signal is supplied by PLL circuit.
The PLL circuit in the transmitter generates the necessary frequencies. Fig.1 shows the frequencies.
RPV516 frequency range: RPV516 A: 150MHz—174MHz
RPU416 frequency range: RPU416 B: 400MHz—420MHz
RPU416 A: 450MHz—470MHz

2. Receiver
The receiver employs double conversion superheterodyne.
1-a) Front end RF amplifier (RPV516)
The input signal of antenna is applied to an RF amplifier (Q203) after passing through a
transmit/receive switch circuit and a 3-grade low pass filter. The amplified signal is filtered through a
band pass filter (a 3-grade LC filter) to eliminate unwanted signal before it is applied to the first mixer.
The voltage of varactor is provided by MPU (IC403). (See Fig. 2-a)
