Cleaning and maintenance

To clean the wheel chair simply use water and if

wished a mild cleanser. You can remove tough dirt

by using a car cleanser. No water should enter the

wheel chair tubes during the cleaning process which

is why it should only be cleaned in a fully mounted

position. If needed, have your wheel chair checked

and maintained by a professional or replace a worn

out one with a new one. Make sure to contact your

specialist dealer when you find any defects while

checking the braking force on a regular basis. It is

not permitted to operate the wheelchair without

professional maintenance.

Do the following maintenance work on a regular

basis:

- Check the wheels of wear out every four weeks.

- Check the tightness of the wheelchairs bolted

connections every six months.

- Lubricate the rods every eight weeks with sewing

machine oil.

- Seawater, de-icing salt and sand damage the bea-

ring and the steering gear of the wheel chair. After

the wheelchair comes in touch with the mentioned

things make sure to clean it with fresh water.

Common security advice

Only use the wheel chair if it is in flawless condition.

Improper use of the wheel chair can put the user in

danger. For your own safety we strongly suggest you

to follow the following regulations:

- Unprofessional or missing adjustments can increa-

se the risk of accidents.

- We would like to point out to you that you are part

of the public road traffic as a wheelchair user and

therefore you must follow the road traffic act.

- Wear light colored clothes in darkness.

- When driving the first time be very careful to

adjust to the wheelchairs shift of emphasis impact.

- Exercise caution when driving on even grounds,

inclines and declines.

- The handbrake is not meant to slow down the

wheelchair while driving!!! It is only meant for un-

wanted rolling away while standing. If you stop on

uneven ground make sure to use both handbrakes.

The wheel chair can tilt over if you only use one of

the handbrakes.

- If available use ramps and elevators. In case there

are no ramps or elevators on your way you should

take an assistant with you to reach your destination.

The assistant may only hold onto the wheelchairs

frame parts. It is not allowed to lift up the wheel-

chair with somebody sitting in it - make sure to roll

it.

- Before you start always sure to check the rods on

the drive wheels, the velcro of the seat and backrest,

the wheel possibly the air pressure of the wheels as

well as the brakes.

- The maximum load weight is 125 kg.

- The wheel chair serves exclusively as transpor-

tation of people sitting on the seat. Another use is

considered to be improper.

- It is not allowed to use the wheelchair while riding

a bus or train! Only the seats of the bus or train give

enough protection in dangerous situations.

- It is important to read the right part of the instruc-

tion manual if you wish to make any changes to the

wheelchairs adjustments.

- Especially when driving up inclines or driving

down declines, road holes or uneven areas which

can cause the wheel chair to tilt over.

It is

advisable to lean forward if going over a step or

while driving up an incline.

- It is only recommended to use the wheel chair on

solid ground.

- The wheel chair is not meant as support to lift

yourself up from a squatting or sitting position.

- The wheels of the wheelchair can get stuck if used

on uneven grounds like grooves or grids. Try to

avoid this kind of obstacle.

- Activate the handbrake if parking the wheelchair.

This avoids unintended rolling away of the wheel-

chair.

- Make sure to only put weight on the seat from

above!

- Worn out wheels can affect the braking force of the

wheelchair. This is why you should make sure that

the braking force of the brakes is in a good working

condition.

- Slip hazard on wet, dirty, iced or snow covered

ground! This causes a severely limited braking force.

Adjust your handling to these dangers.

- Even if all moveable parts have been removed the

wheel chair still has a weight of 10 kg. This is why

a lift should only be done in a folded condition by

grabbing the handles and front frame.
