mAINTENANCE

GLASS CRYSTAL BuRNER REmOVAL / INSTALLATION (HZI390E / HZI390EB)

care must be taken when installing the burner into the firebox.

do not damage, knock or scrape the pilot assembly.

the flame sensor and ignition lead are fragile and can be damaged

easily.

1)

If already installed, removed glass crystals and pebbles.

2)

Remove filler sections from right and left sides of burner. Discard filler sec-

tion if panels are installed - see below.

1)

Lift the burner assembly with both hands. Point the mixing tube towards

the rear of the firebox. Lean the rear of the burner assembly downward.
To properly position the burner, the mixing tube must first situated onto
the mixing tube support. Partially lift the burner assembly so that the mix-
ing tube will then slide into the air shutter.

2)

Lower the front edge of the burner assembly so that the burner front

mounting tab rests in the small slot in both the burner mounting bracket
left and right, near the front of the firebox. These tabs will not line up un-
less the mixing tube is inside the air shutter at the rear of the firebox.

with 4x screws

Disconnect unit from gas supply and allow unit to cool before removing

burner.

Remove the 3 (some units may have 4) screws securing the burner feet

and into the Firebox floor - in locations shown below.

Lift the burner assembly with both hands - pull the burner gently out-

wards and up towards the front of the firebox.

Place the Burner Cover Screen over the Burner Ports. Place the Pilot

Cover over the rear gap between the Burner and the Media Tray. This will
sit around the Pilot Provision.

4)

Distribute the glass crystals throughout the Media Tray. The media should

be level with the side of the Media Tray.
