The AN-30e is designed to simultaneously transport TDM signals and Ethernet data
traffic over a single converged link. The two common AN-30e deployments are for
Mobility Backhaul (TDM-only) and Enterprise backhaul (TDM + data). The
following sections describe the basic operating parameters for each of these two
applications.
6.1 Bandwidth
Requirements
An adequate fade margin is needed to maintain the modulated burst rate required to
successfully transport TDM traffic. The working system should be evaluated on the
worst-case modulated burst rate. This consideration must include the possibility of
asymmetrical modulated burst rates for the uplink and downlink, caused by
interference affecting only one direction on the wireless link.
6.1.1 Maximum Uncoded Burst Rates
It is important that adequate testing be performed to demonstrate that sufficient error-
free bandwidth is available for the number of TDM channels to be deployed (see
tables in this section).
The following table lists the maximum uncoded burst rates based on SINADR values.
