CONFIGURE STILL SEQUENCE EDITOR SETTINGS
In REDCINE-X PRO, you can select the color space, gamut, and frame rate for the source file. RRencode uses
the source color space, gamma, and frame rate settings to map the source video properly into the .RED file
format.
If the color space and gamma values are set incorrectly, the displayed video colors will also be incorrect. If the
frame rate of the source file is different than the frame rate of the export frame rate setting, the video may not
be properly synced to the audio, unless the length of the source audio WAV file has been appropriately adjusted
in order to compensate.
To change the source file color space, gamut, and frame rate, follow the instructions below:
1. Right-click the desired clip in the Bin.
2. Select
Still Sequence Editor
.
3. Select the desired
Gamma
option from the drop-down menu.
Available Gamma options include: REC 709, 2.2, 2.6, or LINEAR. The default is REC 709.
4. Select the desired
Color Space
option from the drop-down menu.
Available Color Space options include: REC 709, P3, XYZ, or sRGB. The default is REC 709.
5. Select the desired
Frame Rate
option from the drop-down menu.
The default Frame Rate is 23.98 (23.976).
6. Click
Accept
.
NOTE:
While selecting color space and gamma values, remember to keep the following in mind:
‒
Content graded for HDTV or UHDTV typically uses REC 709 color gamut and gamma.
‒
Content graded for digital cinema release typically uses P3 or XYZ color gamut and 2.6 gamma.
‒
Content originating from computer graphics applications may use either of the above combinations or
sRGB color gamut and 2.2 gamma.
