A low pendulum action usually results in a smooth and clean cut (smooth edges, without
any jaggedness).
A high pendulum action usually results in a coarse and fast cut where the edges of the
workpiece are more jagged.
Position Blade movement
Cut type
Material
0
No pendulum action.
The blade moves up and
down in a straight line,
allowing a smooth but
unaggressive cut
All types of cut
Soft steel; stainless steel,
sheet metal
Plastics
Clean cut in soft wood,
plywood
Ceramics
1
Light pendulum action
Curved cut
Soft steel, aluminum
Plastics
Solid wood, particle
board
2
Medium pendulum action Straight cut (by hand)
Fast cut in soft steel,
aluminum
Plastics
Coarse cut in soft wood,
plywood
3
High pendulum action.
The blade moves in an
elliptical stroke, allowing
a more aggressive cut.
Straight cut (with guide)
Fast cut in soft wood,
plywood
Materials where a
faster and coarser cut is
needed.
Tip:
If you find the pendulum action setting you have selected is cutting the material too
aggressively, you can always change the setting in the middle of the cut.
Bevel cutting
With the base tilted, you can make bevel cuts at a maximum angle of 45°. To set the required
angle:
• Loosen the two screws at the bottom of the base plate with the included hex wrench.
Move the base plate slightly back so that it can move freely.
• The spaces between the teeth correspond to the angles: 0°, 15°, 35° and 45° on the right
and on the left side of the base plate.
• Slide the base plate to the desired position and then push the base plate forward so that
the lug locks between the teeth.
• Tighten the screws.
Speed adjustment
The speed of the jigsaw may be adjusted depending on how far the ON/OFF switch is
pressed. Light pressure on the ON/OFF switch results in low speed. Further pressure on the
ON/OFF switch increases the speed.
Adjust the speed to the material of the workpiece.
